BeanRunner Cafe
201 S. Division Street @ Esther
Peekskill, NY   See Map
Yonkers native and practicing attorney, Michael Attanasio, has been singing for more than 40 years. As a child he learned Sinatra songs through osmosis by listening to his father's records. In his teens he discovered Joe Cocker, Chicago, Led Zeppelin, Santana, Clapton and the Allman Brothers. He spent time in a rock band but before the 70's ended he became captivated by Sara Vaughan, Al Jarreau and Joe Sample. Then came years singing in church, his soulful solos inspiring many. Michael's eclectic tastes are evident in his set list, drawing from the jazz standards of his Sinatra era father and those of his 60's and 70's music awakening period. Jazz, rock, soul, blues; Sinatra, Johnny Hartman, Bobby Darin, Ray Charles, Al Jarreau, Joe Cocker, Lionel Ritchie. Come hear them all in an intimate evening of songs from two generations.

Upstate RubdownThe FALCON
1348 Route 9W
Marlboro, NY   See Map
Upstate Rubdown is an acoustic septet drawing inspiration from every corner (and decade) of America's musical heritage.

The instrumentation includes Harry D'Agostino on upright bass, Ryan Chappell on mandolin, Dean Mahoney on cajón, and Christian Joao on flute and alto/baritone saxophone. The dynamic rhythm section supports a three part vocal harmony powerhouse of founding members Mary Kenney and Melanie Glenn with recent Nashville-transplant Allison Olender.

"Pulling from the greatest corners of American music, this group has the power to get feet moving with or without amplification. Like fresh-farmed vegetables, their music is as organic as it is good for you. From foot-stomping bass, highlighted by the slap of a cajon, to the familiar strums of the mandolin over a wailing saxophone – there’s so much going on instrumentally that when the harmonious lead vocalists chime in, the result is nothing short of a homegrown hurricane of sound." - Otis Mountain Get Down

"It's all about the song. It has to be. If it isn't, then as far as I'm concerned, you're missing the point." - Pat O'Shea

The Hudson River Valley's boundless music scene is home for singer/songwriter/guitarist Pat O’Shea. The former sideman continues to impress with his well-crafted songs and strong musicianship. His resume is equally impressive and includes six years playing guitar for the legendary Levon Helm, countless shows backing Blues greats James Cotton and Hubert Sumlin, as well as collaborations with Jimmy Vivino (Conan O’Brien, The Fab Faux), David Johansen (The New York Dolls) and Larry Campbell (Bob Dylan) among others.

O’Shea’s songs are pure American music, influenced equally by heartland Country, down-home Blues and straight ahead Rock n Roll. His thoughtful lyrics, inspirational melodies and powerful arrangements will rock you hard, let you down easy and take you everywhere in between.

Alexis P. Suter is a 2017 BMA Nominee for Best Female Contemporary Blues Vocalist! Alexis is a powerhouse bass/baritone vocalist with the ability to go to "that other place" where singers go when they are lost in the music.

"She is one of those wonderful spirits; she's got her arms around you. You can feel that." - Levon Helm (1940-2012)

"It's a rare thing to share the stage with great talent like that young lady." - B.B. King (1925-2015)

The root of the Alexis P. Suter Band is Suter's deep, powerful, commanding, and soulful voice, artfully blending the lines between gospel and blues. Suter is the daughter of a singer, Carrie Suter, backing vocalist with Harry Belafonte, Mahalia Jackson and Rosetta Tharpe and cites the late classic R&B singer, Ruth Brown, as a primary influence, as well as Barry White, DJ Rogers, and her sister Andrea P. Suter.

Alexis P. Suter & Band are touring in support of their latest release "All For Loving You".

ORIGINAL Music with an edge...
with Marc Von Em
Acoustic, Singer-Songwriter
12 Grapes Music & Wine Bar
12 North Division Street
Peekskill, NY   See Map
Marc Von Em is here with his full band tonight! His original music is influenced by folk, funk & blues, with a few choice cover songs woven in. As one reviewer wrote: "If you haven't seen Marc Von Em perform live, you're only cheating yourself."

Marc's chops are wide-ranging, from delicate finger picking to rambunctious Pete Townsend-type strumming. Marc is able to seamlessly switch his vibe -- his dynamic voice can go from smooth & soaring to smoky scatting. His harmonica playing is equally impressive and he sometimes uses it to accompany Muddy Waters-style blues on guitar.

Marc recently finished his 3rd tour with The Rob Thomas Band -- this year with the famed '90s band, Counting Crows. After their 1st tour together, Rob Thomas wrote, "... when I heard his original stuff, I asked [Marc] to open up a 10,000 seat gig. Just him, his guitar, and his songs. He killed it!"

Influenced by the raw emotion of songwriters such as Patty Griffin, Lucinda Williams, Mieka Pauley, and Emmylou Harris, Sarah's confessional lyrics are defiant and searing, vulnerable and searching. Sarah has dedicated the past several years collaborating with veterans Clifford Carter (James Taylor), Marc Shulman (Suzanne Vega), Ann Klein (Ani DiFranco) and Chrissi Poland (Scissor Sisters), allowing her songs to evolve through consistent live performance. Sarah is often seen performing at NYC clubs such as the Bitter End and in Nov 2016 celebrated her CD release at Rockwood Music Hall to a packed house.
