“heartfelt singing and beautiful arrangements hung together with a potent lyricism that is all too rare” - Americana UK

“an extraordinary blend: vocals, instruments and lyrics.” - Texas Music Journal

“Intelligent and interesting writing, sublime vocals, stellar playing” - Lonesome Highway

Pete and Crystal Damore have voices that entwine with an intensity that vibrates, but it is Crystal on lead vocals who causes goosebumps to form. Hers is a classic mountain voice shaded toward a lower register, and the emotion she captures with it is extraordinary.

Dylan Doyle Band -- EP Release! The FALCON
1348 Route 9W
Marlboro, NY   See Map
Based in the Hudson Valley, rising star Dylan Doyle has been performing nationally, as well as internationally. Southern bred, northern raised, his trio’s style of music lies somewhere between roots rock and jam funk. It evokes Woodstock and dips into southern soul. It’s a uniquely American sound Doyle calls “a big melting pot.”

After sharing the stage with the young musician in Memphis a few years back, Ben Cauley, sole survivor of the Otis Redding plane crash and co-founder of the Bar-Kays likened Dylan to a young Jimi Hendrix.

When asked about the wave of young talent rising from the Hudson Valley, Van Morrison guitarist John Platania commented “Dylan Doyle is the future.”

Bill Payne of Little Feat described Dylan’s work as “imaginative and original.”

The Howland Chamber Music Circle introduces the innovative percussion ensemble Sō Percussion, which makes its first appearance with a program they call “Living Room Music.” Sō's repertoire ranges from the classics of 20th century composers like John Cage, Steve Reich, and Iannis Xenakis, to composing and performing their own works.

Based in New York City, Sō Percussion has redefined the scope and vital role of the modern percussion ensemble. Anthony Tommasini of the New York Times describes Sō Percussion as “exceptionally inventive” and that they “have technique galore on traditional instruments.”

You don’t want to miss this incredible performance, presented in an intimate setting at the Howland Cultural Center in Beacon, NY.

“Luiz Simas is not only a wonderful musician, singer and composer, he is an engaging performer who draws his audience into his witty, joyful, sensuous musical world. Simas epitomizes the fantasies we non-Brazilians have about that wonderful country, and with him, we all get to be Brazilian, at least for a couple of hours!”- Judy Carmichael, pianist

A native of Rio, composer/singer/pianist Luiz Simas is a genuine Carioca! A New Yorker since ‘89, Luiz' voice and music have warmed major venues including Birdland, the Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall and Bargemusic. His repertoire includes not only his own infectious original tunes informed by bossa nova, jazz, samba and traditional Brazilian choros, but also remarkably fresh and witty renditions of favorite Brazilian standards by the likes of Jobim and Caetano Veloso.

When legendary folk music icon Arlo Guthrie took to the road to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of his seminal song “Alice’s Restaurant Massacree,” he was incredibly moved by the feedback from enthusiastic fans. Alice’s Restaurant- Back By Popular Demand Tour will coincide with the 50th Anniversary of the feature film “Alice’s Restaurant,” originally released in 1969, starring Arlo as himself, directed by famed director Arthur Peen! “I didn’t think I was gonna live long enough to have to learn ‘Alice’s Restaurant’ again,” Arlo Guthrie says with a smile. “It was a quirky kinda thing to begin with. Nobody writes a 18-minute monologue expecting fame and fortune. The initial success of the song really took me by surprise more than anyone else. The fact that I have contended with it for five decades either by having to learn it again or by not doing it, has been an interesting balancing act. I’m surely looking forward to it again being a centerpiece of live repertoire.”

Sony Legacy and Real Gone Music release ‘The Essential Eric Andersen’, marking the master songwriter’s 75th birthday as well as five decades in music.

“Andersen is the most elegant of singers.” - Rolling Stone

“Eric Andersen is a great ballad singer and writer.” - Bob Dylan

Eric Andersen is widely regarded as one of the most poetic songwriters to spring from the Greenwich Village folk scene of the 1960’s - a multifaceted, complex and singularly driven artist whose early career saw great expectations waylaid by misfortune.

A remastered two CD set has been made available, containing Andersen's BLUE RIVER his 1972 CBS debut produced by Norbert Putnam, and STAGES (his 1973 "lost" album for Columbia). These recordings feature, among others, Leon Russell, Joan Baez and Dan Fogelberg.

Bruce Hornsby’s work displays a creative iconoclasm that’s been a constant in the artist’s two-and-a-half decade recording career. His commercial stock soared early on. When “The Way It Is’- the title track of his 1986 debut album- became one of the most popular songs on American radio. Despite his early mainstream successes, Hornsby has pursues a more personal, idiosyncratic musical path focusing on projects that sparked his creative interest including collaborations with the Grateful Dead, Spike Lee, Ricky Skaggs, Don Henley, Ornette Coleman, Bob Dylan, Bela Fleck, Justine Vernon, Bonnie Raitt, Pat Metheny, and Robbie Robertson. Hornsby’s performance will offer a glimpse of a restless spirit who continues to push forward into exciting new musical terrain.

Marc Von Em is a one man band of sorts, able to create an impressive array of music with just his voice and one faithful guitar. His chops are wide-ranging from delicate finger picking to raw, rambunctious strumming. Marc's guitar serves as more than one instrument as he uses it to create percussive beats and atmospheric sounds. His dynamic voice can go from smooth & soaring to smoky scatting. Marc's harmonica playing is equally impressive, and he sometimes uses it to accompany his blues influenced original songs. His soulful live performances showcase his original music, influenced by folk, funk and blues, with a few choice cover songs woven in. As one reviewer wrote: "If you haven't seen Marc Von Em perform live you're only cheating yourself."
