The Music Of Simon & Garfunkel
with AJ Swearingen, Jonathan Beedle
Bodles Opera House
39 Main Street
Chester, NY   See Map
AJ Swearingen and Jonathan Beedle have been performing this remarkable tribute to the music of "Simon & Garfunkel" for more than a decade and their sold out shows prove the effect on their audiences is undeniable. A chance meeting in 1991, in a local club in Bethlehem, PA brought these two talented artists together. A brief introduction and moments later they were blending their voices as if they had been performing together for a lifetime. AJ's warm baritone and Jonathan's soaring tenor combine flawlessly to capture the essence and magic of "Simon & Garfunkel's" sound of the early years in Greenwich Village. With a quiet stage and an acoustic guitar, A.J. and Jonathan re-create the memories of the classic hits and obscure songs of "Simon & Garfunkel." Discover why audiences are cheering for this duo as they capture - the magic of "Simon and Garfunkel."

Renowned as an extraordinary guitar player, and for songwriting talents that display a real feel for language, New Orleans-raised Chris Smither's soulful vocal style resonates from its finger pickin' blues roots. Self described as a singer-songwriter-guitarist who plays acoustic folk blues, or as a one man rock-n-roll band, Chris visits everything from obscure Chuck Berry to Tin Pan Alley corn with an uncanny ability to inhabit a song with his unpretentiously charming personalty. Among other recognized tunes, Smither wrote the often covered Bonnie Raitt classic Love You Like A Man.

There is a story teller, a children’s area, musicians, live animals to meet and lots of different things for people to do. Charlie Blumstein will bring his pizza oven and be churning out pizzas using as many locally grown ingredients as possible. There will also be tours of the Epworth timber-frame straw bale project and the permaculture gardens. I will be playing sometime between 4pm and 7pm.

After a brief break where we mingle with the masses. I will begin my set some time around 9pm. But, like I say "This is not About Me" it's all about you and the friends you will bring with you.
