One of acoustic music’s most popular and enduring acts, Aztec Two-Step continues to impress audiences with intelligent songwriting, dazzling acoustic lead guitar, and inspiring harmonies. The folk-rock duo of Rex Fowler and Neal Shulman first burst onto folk scene in 1972 with their self-titled debut, emerging as staples of progressive FM and college radio and helping to lead the evolution of folk/rock music from the 1960s to the 70s and beyond alongside Bob Dylan, Judy Collins, Tom Rush and Phil Ochs. The duos harmony-driven tunes and James Taylor-meets-Simon & Garfunkel sounds promise an evening of supple harmonies and awesome acoustic pop. Acoustic, Singer-Songwriter
12 Grapes Music & Wine Bar
12 North Division Street
Peekskill, NY   See Map
Always a special night of music and song, this Sunday series is a laid-back, listening kind of event.

We're excited to welcome the very talented Addie Brownlee back to our 12 Grapes stage. Addie Brownlee's voice has been compared to Dusty Springfield. It's Americana, Alt/Country, Singer/ Songwriter. "If Brownlee's voice is of the dust, the earth, then her lyrics are a hard rain. Eroding the surface of things, exposing feelings that aren't easily expressed or classified, but so familiar..." Addie notes Dolly Parton as her biggest influence, and recently did a tribute at NYC's The Living Room. Addie was joined onstage by Martha Wainwright. Her song, "Sea Legs" off her new EP, "East of Leaving" also features a cameo by Ms Wainwright.

We first discovered Ryan O'Connor at one of our Open Mic Nights and are proud to present his 12 Grapes debut. An entertaining performer, Ryan's strong vocals and acoustic guitar work draw you in, and make you smile.

Hootenanny Cafe Mini Concerts
Online: www.wtbq.com or 93.5FM, NY   See Map
"Susan Cattaneo is not afraid of the dark. A powerful singer and sophisticated songwriter, Susan has seen the darkness in the corners and sings about it fearlessly. Following in the footsteps of Matraca Berg, Kim Richey, Lucinda Williams and Gretchen Peters, the well-respected Boston artist combines vivid storytelling with a modern songwriters spin. Call it New England Americana with a twang. Respectful of tradition, but not bound by it, Susans blends rock, folk, soul and blues with a healthy dose of country. Produced by Lorne Entress, Susan’s 4th album Haunted Heart is the culmination of a journey of self-discovery and a return to a more organic sound. The album features Susan’s story based song brought to life by a stellar cast of musicians. Acoustic, electric and all sorts of steel guitars are provided by Kevin Barry, Lyle Brewer, Duke Levine and Stu Kimball. The rhythm section includes Richard Gates on bass and Marco Giovino on drums. Kenny White is on keyboards."

Big Band! Big Noise! Big Halloween!
with Ed Palermo Big Band Halloween!
The FALCON
1348 Route 9W
Marlboro, NY   See Map
Ed Palermo is not a “business as usual” musician. His Big Band may deliver Zappa, Hendrix, Rundgren, Paul Butterfield, Mike Bloomfield or one of Ed’s own compositions, with lush turns and twists.

Ed’s interpretation of the music of iconoclastic composer Frank Zappa has brought him wide recognition. His first CD of this material, “the ed palermo big band plays the music of frank zappa”, garnered rave reviews. Downbeat magazine gave “the ed palermo big band plays the music of frank zappa” a 4-star review. Palermo’s second CD of Zappa material, entitled “Take Your Clothes Off When You Dance” has been received with equal enthusiasm.

The latest release, 'Oh No! Not Jazz!!' consists of two albums - the first explores Ed's distinctive interpretations of Frank Zappa's work and works from original Mothers Of Invention, with a vocal by guest Napoleon Murphy Brock. The second album features Ed's own riotous, colorful compositions, featured here for the first time in over 25 years!
