Acoustic R&B / Soul
with Jeremy James, and Percy Beamon
Acoustic. R&B / Soul
12 Grapes Music & Wine Bar
12 North Division Street
Peekskill, NY   See Map
Jeremy James has an incredible sound. "...forged of mellow electric grooves, caressed with some acoustic guitar -- in a style that reminds us of classic Isley Brothers and Stevie Wonder at their sweet, sweet best!"

Jeremy has played prestigious clubs such as B.B. King's in NY City, and performed at this year's Pleasantville Music Festival. James' voice is often described as a cross between Stevie Wonder and Seal -- slightly raspy at some points, with an honest, organic quality. He sings warm, heart-felt songs with passion, and his guitar playing is impressive.

Percy Beamon is also an R&B singer and accomplished guitarist. James & Percy will each do 2 half-hour sets.

Relaxing, soulful music... the perfect accompaniment to dinner or sipping a glass of wine on our couches!

Seventeen year old Guitar Slinger, Dylan Doyle, has been steeped in everything from Robert Johnson, John Lee Hooker, and Buddy Guy to Bob Dylan, Todd Snider and Jimi Hendrix and touring nationally since age fifteen. His unique musical interpretation lies somewhere between the delta of Rock, the Blues, and Funk.

Dylan has performed at the Grateful Garcia Gathering, one of the largest Grateful Dead festivals in the country and returns to play the 2015 King Biscuit Blues festival. He is looking forward to his first European tour in 2015.

After performing with Dylan in Memphis, sole surviving band member of the Otis Redding plane crash Ben Cauley said, “Dylan Doyle is like a young, white Jimi Hendrix.”

Singer, songwriter, and guitar virtuoso Jimmy Thackery carved an enviable niche for himself in the world of electric blues, known for his gritty, blue-collar approach and marathon live shows,

Thackery co-founded and spent fourteen years as part of The Nighthawks, one of the hardest-working blues bar bands in North America. Touring under his own name since 1987, he found widespread acceptance on the festival circuit. His hard-edged, tough-as-nails approach to guitar playing and his trio's driving rhythm section holds appeal for fans of Muddy Waters, Bruce Springsteen and Joe Grushecky.

His 1998 album, SWITCHING GEARS, includes guest performances by Joe Louis Walker, Lonnie Brooks, Chubby Carrier, and Francine Reed, but any of Thackery's albums will delight fans of tough, heavy, driving guitar playing.

One of Comedy Central's Top 100 Comedian Takes our Stage!
with Sinbad
Paramount Hudson Valley
1008 Brown St.
Peekskill, NY   See Map
Sinbad arrived on the comedy scene with a “hit’em in the face” style of comedy that has kept audiences laughing in the aisles. Sinbad’s comedy is about stories, and boy does he tell stories! Ranked by Comedy Central as one of the top 100 standup comics of all time, Sinbad has built a loyal following by taking audiences’ painful trials or embarrassing tribulations of day-by-day life, throwing them back in their faces & causing an uproar of comedic hysteria. He can also make it sound profound without being profane.

Sinbad says he learned “funny is funny” and that masters of dirty comedy Redd Foxx, Richard Pryor & Lenny Bruce could all work clean without losing a step. After the roaring success of Sinbad’s WHERE U BEEN? special on Comedy Central, the network also aired his most recent MAKE ME WANNA HOLLA special.

Tickets are $40, $50 or $60. You can purchase tickets in-person at the Box Office, over the phone at 914-739-0039, or through our website.

A Hudson Valley Roots Rock Ensemble!

Special Guests Tonight: Tony Tino/Bass, Dan Hickey/Drums, Art Labriola/Keys/Pedal Steel, Adrien Reju and Lindsay Webster/Vocals!

For thirteen years Andy Stack played every gig in NYC. Just as he considered moving to New Orleans, he met fiddler, Tania Elizabeth. In rapid succession, they formed a duo, The Stacks, married and relocated to the Hudson Valley.

During a session at Levon Helm’s Barn, Andy and Tania Elizabeth Stack heard drummer, Lee Falco, bassist, Brandon Morrison and guitarist, Connor Kennedy, each of them staples of the Hudson Valley music scene, tearing it up. Their virtuosic playing complimented Andy’s songs, voice and guitar beautifully. Within six months they had crafted a lush, soulful Roots/Rock album, with Tania adding strings and vocals, Jeremy Baum on keys, Rich Hinman on Pedal Steel and a horn section by Andy’s former bandmates Fred Reiter and Kevin Batchelor from Andy's days with the New York Ska Jazz Ensemble.

Hipbone Records recording artist Alexis P Suter with Ray Grappone, drummer/percussionist and producer/vocalist Vicki Bell, deliver their mix of Gospel, Blues, Traditional, poignant, and time-honored American music, up-close and personal.

Blues Music Award nominee Alexis P. Suter is a powerhouse bass/baritone vocalist with the ability to go to "that other place" where singers go when they are lost in the music. It is no wonder the late B.B. King and the late Levon Helm were big fans. Suter and her band have played nearly 100 of Helm’s shows in Woodstock NY and opened for “The King” when he visited her hometown of NYC.

The Ministers of Sound feature Ray Grappone (APSB, Buster Poindexter, Levon Helm) on drums and percussion, Vicki Bell (APSB, Open Door, Corey Daye) on vocals and percussion, and Special Guest Dave Keyes on keyboards!

The FALCON

KIND of NEW pushes its way into your ears, your feet, for a truly engaging listen. Along with “Sanctuary,” two additional tracks were recorded live at The Shape Shifter Lab in Brooklyn: “Ferrari,” written by Jason about driving with Miles Davis down the Pacific Coast Highway, and which features an inspired electric piano performance; and “Street Vibe.” Jason adds, “Ingrid and I also wanted to present ourselves in a live, spontaneous situation, to give the audience an example of what this band is about.

Renowned producer, keyboardist and conceptualist Jason Miles’ first-hand intimate experience working with Miles Davis informs this new collaboration, and indeed its title is a wink at the master from whom he learned so much.

Ingrid Jensen, grew up in British Columbia, with the brave sounds of Miles Davis's Bitches Brew coursing through her soul. She recalls the fun she had with her rock band jamming over the tracks.

The Jazz Gallery Mentoring Series

The FALCON
1348 Route 9W
Marlboro, NY   See Map
The Jazz Gallery serves as an international cultural center, fostering artistic growth, presenting both major and established figures in jazz alongside a younger generation of artists. Since 2002, The Gallery has also been actively engaged in commissioning new work by emerging composers, many of whom have gone on to be recognized with MacArthur Foundation "genius" grants (4), Doris Duke Performing Artist Awards, Grammy Awards and more. Twelve Thelonious Monk Competition winners got their start on our stage. http://www.jazzgallery.org/

Mentorship has always been a key theme in jazz history. For decades, elder musicians groomed promising young jazz musicians - taking them on the road, into the recording studio and into one-on-one study. Most of today's great jazz musicians were raised through these informal channels and gained invaluable experience working with their heroes. Future generations of great quality jazz depends upon continuing this tradition.
