One of our favorite new performers will soon be yours, too. Mike has been making new and immediate fans every time he's here.

Mike Milazzo is an accomplished singer/songwriter and guitarist who blends rock, folk, country, and blues into a distinctive Americana sound. His most recent CD, "Love Is A Cage" features an eclectic mix of songs, honed by hundreds of live performances and showcasing Milazzo's years of performing. Reflective of his time spent in NYC, the CD has come from broken relationships, interactions gone wrong, and stories of lost love affairs of the past.

"During his set he will cover big name acts from Muddy Waters to Johnny Cash ... We think of Elvis Costello at times" - William Glenn

Mike has performed as an opening act for Donovan, Richie Havens, and Levon Helm. Mike can captivate his audience from the first note and have you smiling, laughing and dancing!

1348 Route 9W
Marlboro, NY   See Map
Vocalist Catherine Russell is a native New Yorker, born into musical royalty. Her father, the late Luis Russell, was a legendary pianist/composer/bandleader, and Louis Armstrong's long-time musical director. Her mother, Carline Ray, was a pioneering vocalist/guitarist/bassist who performed with International Sweethearts of Rhythm, Mary Lou Williams, and Ruth Brown.

Catherine’s professional life began early. After graduating with honors from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, she embarked upon musical adventures and has since likely had to buy a trophy case or two. Over her career she has won critics awards from German Record Critics, Living Blues magazine, the French Jazz Academy, and a Grammy for her contributions to the soundtrack of HBO's Boardwalk Empire, among many others.

With an off-the-beaten-path song selection, sparkling acoustic swing, and a stunning vocal approach, Catherine Russell has joined the ranks of the greatest interpreters and performers.

Tie that up with showmanship that recalls Prince and Michael Jackson, and you’ve got a quite a heavy hitter in Ms. Poland.

The Tin Pan Band
Jazz
BeanRunner Cafe
201 S. Division Street @ Esther
Peekskill, NY   See Map
Tin Pan connotes a world of jazz, blues and American popular song. The band has created a rabid following by playing music that resonates powerfully because its intention is pure - to make people dance, smile and conjure with the spirit of music itself. On their new album, Hound's Tooth, the band has perfected their sonic vision - effortless, wondrous and festive, feeling much like, as the band describes themselves, Ray Charles and Tom Waits at a Bourbon Street Parade. With Jesse Selengut on trumpet, lead vocals and compositions, Clifton Hyde on guitar and hollerin', Stefan Zeniuk on reeds and boy soprano vocals, and Peter "Baby Hands" Maness on bass and some singin', Tin Pan evokes everything from Fats Waller and Louis Armstrong to Irving Berlin and Hoagy Carmichael. The Tin Pan Band was founded in 2006 by Selengut, a long time New York based musician, and the curator of the Williamsburg Jazz Festival.

Gifted pianist, composer, and singer, Akie Bermiss, has been a Man of Letters since he was still in "small clothes".

Bermiss began writing music criticism in his years at Bard College, finishing with a degree in music composition. He also studied American Music (read: tin pan alley, broadway musicals, and jazz) and writing (read: wrote some bad poetry and called it good). To his friends, he is considered a musical snob of the highest order; to his enemies — a musical charlatan of the basest variety.

Among other things he is the author of a children’s book (“I Hate to Be Sick” - Scholastic), a lover of science fiction, a huge fan of cigars, and he takes his bourbon: neat.

On NYC singer-songwriter Karen Hudson's third release, "Sonic Bloom" she digs deep down in the dirt to exorcise demons and give herself permission to blossom and thrive. Hudson's musical roots go deep and broad-it's Americana for people who like to mix The Rolling Stones with their Patsy Cline. "Sonic Bloom," which was produced by Eric Ambel (Steve Earle/Del Lords) has been well received. In 2013, Hudson was named "Best Female Artist" by 3rd Coast Music magazine in Austin, TX. Hudson's most popular song, "Mama Was A Train Wreck" was named a top 100 song of 2013 by New York Music Daily.

"With her edgy wit and elegant stage presence songwriter Karen Hudson has been a mainstay of the New York Americana scene since the early zeros...Hudson's matter-of-fact vocals carry the lyrics with passion, soul, and rich dynamics, from an insistent wail to a warm, caressing timbre: she's never sung better." -New York Music Daily.

Alex Nolan, currently in the house band for The Meredith Vieira Show, is a songwriter and guitarist who saw instant success right after college when her all-female band "Mustang Sally" started opening for such major acts as Hootie & the Blowfish, the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and more. As a solo artist, Alex has recorded two CD's and has endorsements from Peavey, Dunlop and LsL. Alex's sister, Kelly Nolan, joins her on vocals.

Mishti is, well, Mishti. Rock guitarist. Songwriter. Incredible vocalist and entertainer. Mishti just released her new EP, The Silk. Her music has been described as "Buckley meets GaGa" ... or Slash. Take your pick.

Rachel Eckroth is a jazz pianist, singer and songwriter whose second CD, "Let Go" is fused with jazz, pop and R&B sensibilities. Rachel possesses "gracefully bold uniqueness."

His style is one of versatility, drawing from many different genres: Jazz, World Music, Hip-Hop, Afro-Cuban Music, etc..

His discography includes over 30 albums with various recording artists, as well as his debut album In This Day (Strick Muzik), released in 2009.

"The voice of an angel, the wit of a devil, and the guitar playing of a god" Fort Worth Star-Telegram

"Vance Gilbert is back with another beautifully sung and evocative album – a transcendent collection of new songs BaD Dog Buffet [2014 Release]... His live show has a reputation that precedes it. Known equally for his vocal virtuosity and his comedic stage banter and stories, Vance has continued to garner new fans wherever he plays. In the beginning it was Shawn Colvin who wanted him on her tour. Requests also came in from Arlo Guthrie, Anita Baker, and the late George Carlin... " folkworks.org
