with JP Patrick & Friends
Blues/Rock/Jazz Fusion
12 Grapes Music & Wine Bar
12 North Division Street
Peekskill, NY   See Map
The 1st Thurs of each month, join saxman and vocalist JP Patrick & his band as they play for each other, and for you. The band explores the musical territory of Blues, R&B, Funk and Jazz. Every installment of "Sessions" is unique, as JP often invites different musicians to sit in and perform.

Every month, there's a new dynamic on the stage. It may be a sit-down electric-acoustic night, or dueling drummers, or exceptional harmonies with 3 back-up singers. You never know what MAGIC may happen at one of JP's Sessions, but you will never be disappointed in the calibre of the music.

Tonight features JP on lead vocals, Blues harp & alto sax (and sometimes a little stand-up comedy!), PAUL BIZ on bass and LINDA GEIGER on drums, with special guest, RON MIRRO on guitar!

Help us pack the place tonight. Live music is truly a gift. And tonight, it's FREE.

Peekskill, NY   See Map
Anchored by the sound of Funk & Soul masters like James Brown, Otis Redding and Prince, SugarBad creates an uplifting sound spearheaded by the velveteen voice of Lisa Ramey. Expect an energetic and captivating experience.

Unlike most typical Funk-Soul acts, SugarBad has all the intensity of a Rock band, featuring anthemic vocals and horns, a powerful rhythm section, and funky guitar and organ-based grooves. With beginnings as an instrumental house band at 169 Bar, Ramey (vocals), Aaron Rockers (horns), Dave Mainella (organ/keys), Frank Cogliano (guitar), Isaac Jaffe (bass), and Nick Myers (sax) quickly evolved into a staple of the NY Soul scene.

With tours in Italy, grand performances at Jazz! at Lincoln Center, and packed shows at legendary NYC clubs such as Bowery Electric and Rockwood Music Hall, SugarBad shows unique versatility and is ready to jolt their genre with their upcoming EP, set to release soon.

Krumville, NY   See Map
Kurt Henry hosts a gathering of Hudson Valley songwriter-performers at Krumville's venerable, laid-back gastropub. Josh Roy Brown (son of Les Brown!) and Jeff Entin's rootsy sounds hopefully won't clash too insanely with cabaret duo Alpher & Litt's wry take on the Great American Songbook. Alpher & Litt will share some brand-new originals along with favorites from their new CD "Two Apples." The Kurt Henry Band closes the show. Dinner is available and totally delicious, plus a selection of over 300 beers!

Cliff Eberhardt

RIVER SPIRIT MUSIC HOUSE CONCERTS
Hastings-on-Hudson, NY   See Map
Voted one of the top 100 Folk Artists of the last 20 years

Cliff Eberhardt knew by age 7 that he was going to be a singer and songwriter. As a child, Cliff taught himself to play guitar, piano, base and drums. He cut his teeth listening to the likes of James Taylor, Joni Mitchell, Bruce Springsteen, Howlin' Wolf, Muddy Waters, Bonnie Raitt, and Mississippi John Hurt - receiving an early and impressive tutorial in acoustic music. At the same time, he was also listening to great pop songwriters like Cole Porter, the Gershwins, and Rodgers and Hart, which explain his penchant for great melodies and clever lyrical twists.

A driving force of the Greenwich Village New Folk movement and well known among his peers, Cliff’s songs have been covered by the likes of Richie Havens and Buffy St. Marie and the folk superstar band "Cry, Cry, Cry" (Dar Williams, Richard Shindell, Lucy Kaplansky).

“[Solee's debut] ...an inspired collection of acoustic, folk and jazz- flavored songs, filled with hope and the earnest belief that the world is good.” - All Things Considered/NPR

Known for his thrilling cello playing that incorporates new techniques to create a unique mix of folk, bluegrass, jazz and R&B, Ben Sollee possesses a rough, smooth, smoky vocal style and a knack for intricate arrangements. Sollee self-released his fourth album, "Half-Made Man", a revealing, deeply moving album that explores a man trying to figure himself out, just as we all are.

Sollee first gained major notice with his 2008 debut, Learning to Bend, which led NPR’s Morning Edition to call him one of the “Top Ten Great Unknown Artists” of the year. His music drew the attention of My Morning Jacket frontman Jim James, who produced his second full-length album, "Dear Companion".

Featuring Maeve Gilchrist on Harp.

Ian Foster

Hootenanny Cafe Mini Concerts
Online: www.wtbq.com or 93.5FM, NY   See Map
East Coast Canadian songwriter Ian Foster comes from a place of stories, and knows how to tell them. A road worn troubadour who has been described as having a keen poetic sense and a searcher’s infinite wisdom in his writing, he can also make you laugh between the songs when you see him live. He writes in a modern style and exudes a love of storytelling in the finest tradition of folk music. CBC’s Bob Mersereau described him as being “a fine example of what a 21st century folk performer should be doing.” His latest album, The Great Wave (released 2014) has already taken him through Canada and Europe, and has recently earned him four MusicNL nominations, including FACTOR Album of the Year, and Male Artist of the Year. His music has been played on radio internationally, and he has performed at some of the biggest festivals and conferences in Canada, including The East Coast Music Awards and North by Northeast.
