Spontaneous Broadway - Improv Musical Theater
with Mop & Bucket Co.
Musical Theater, Comedic, and Cabaret. Improvisation
Schenectady Light Opera Co
427 Franklin St
Schenectady, NY   See Map
It's been a banner year Off-Broadway, and veteran producer Mick Treadwell is in a pickle. This year there isn't one potential hit he can develop and bring to Broadway -- there are a whole bunch. And that's where the audience gets to help.

Spontaneous Broadway is an improvised Broadway "backers audition." Here's how it works:

Act 1 Audience members suggest song titles and Mop & Bucket improvisers use those suggestions to create numbers from musicals that have not yet been written. The audience votes on their favorite number.

Act 2 MopCo improvisors turn the chosen number into a full musical, complete with costumes, sets, props, dances, and a reprise of the made up first act musical number that inspired the show.

It's a great time for anyone who loves a Broadway show tune.

The reviews are in! "These kids are so talented -- it's like candy for your ears. Funny, delightful... sometimes weird candy" --Mick Treadwell

Come Fly with Me! A celebration of Frank Sinatra's 100th Birthday
with Greg Westhoff, and featuring vocalist Joe Carpentieri
Crooners of the 40's and 50's
12 Grapes Music & Wine Bar
12 North Division Street
Peekskill, NY   See Map
It's Frank Sinatra's Centennial Year, and we're celebrating with the silky tones and fabulous laid-back music of a bygone era. "Come Fly with Me" is a tribute to "Old Blue Eyes" on his 100th Birthday.

Led by drummer Greg Westhoff and our very own crooner, Joe Carpentieri (The Westchester Swing Band), you can enjoy classic songs from Francis Albert Sinatra and post-war crooners of the 40's and 50's like Dean Martin, Bing Crosby and Nat King Cole. The band also features John Carriddi on guitar, Dan Denerstein on keyboard, and Ken Zaback on sax/flute.

It was music we listened to from the big valve radio, or in a smoky bar with the lights low and cocktail in hand.

Come enjoy a stroll down memory lane with Dinner & Show like it's the Copacabana.

Free The Honey
Folk/Traditional, Gospel, and Jazz
Hootenanny Cafe Mini Concerts
Online: www.wtbq.com or 93.5FM, NY   See Map
Free the Honey is a folk quartet - homegrown on the western slope of Colorado. Their first full-length album “Fine Bloom”, produced by Uncle Earl’s KC Groves, features 13 original songs written by Jenny Hill, Katherine Taylor and Lizzy Plotkin. Hooked on the magic of singing harmony together, these three women formed a band to support each other in the art of songwriting. Drawing deep from the well of feminine experience and indelible ties to home, community, and nature, their signature free-flowing vintage folk, jazz and gospel aesthetic runs seamlessly through “Fine Bloom”. With the support of upright bassist Andrew Cameron, Free the Honey adds a fresh, sweet taste to contemporary string-band music with a “relaxed approachability”, that Colorado Marquee Magazine says, “makes it seem as if they’ve been at this for decades.” The elements are familiar - harmony singing, twin fiddle, open back banjo, guitar, mandolin, storytelling, and mountain culture. The alchemy is all their own.
