with JP Patrick & Friends
Blues/Rock/Jazz Fusion
12 Grapes Music & Wine Bar
12 North Division Street
Peekskill, NY   See Map
The 1st Thurs of each month, join saxman and vocalist JP Patrick & his band as they play for each other, and for you. The band explores the musical territory of Blues, R&B, Funk and Jazz. Every installment of "Sessions" is unique, as JP often invites different musicians to sit in and perform.

Every month, there's a new dynamic on the stage. It may be a sit-down electric-acoustic night, or dueling drummers, or exceptional harmonies with 3 back-up singers. You never know what MAGIC may happen at one of JP's Sessions, but you will never be disappointed in the calibre of the music.

Tonight features JP on lead vocals, Blues harp & alto sax (and sometimes a little stand-up comedy!), Hank DeCora and Ron Mirro on guitar, Chris Burke on keys, Linda Geiger on drums and guest bassist, Glenn Govier.

Help us pack the place tonight. Live music is truly a gift. And tonight, it's FREE.

The FALCON
1348 Route 9W
Marlboro, NY   See Map
A delight for Hudson Valley blues fans, The Flaming Meatballs have found their voice in Chicago style blues and its roots. Brothers George (guitar, vox) and John (drums) Amenta have been gaining an audience with the addition of a bassist in residence each year. This year the multi-talented Mike Hamel on bass and guitarist Todd Mihan round out the sound.

Remarkable for young players, TFM is no longer a novelty and continues to mature without betraying their innocent name, christened at inception. This past year saw them play at notable Hudson Valley venues and festivals.

Their set includes covers from Stevie Ray Vaughan, Howlin’ Wolf, Albert King, Eric Clapton, as well as original material. Lots of energy, lots of guitar, no messing around… straight up blues!

The WiyosThe FALCON
1348 Route 9W
Marlboro, NY   See Map
The Wiyos have been rolling for over a decade. They were one of the first "old-timey" bands to emerge on the national scene in the first wave of acoustic bands riding the renewed popularity of early swing jazz, rural folk, old-time blues and Appalachian music.

Their relentless touring in the US and Europe, and numerous critically acclaimed albums and EPs landed them a full 28-day summer tour as openers of the 2009 Bob Dylan Show. The Wiyos were also featured in the BBC television documentary, “Folk America – Hollerers, Stompers and Old-Time Ramblers”. In 2010 they were featured in the BBC television special "No Sleep 'Til Yell".

In 2012, The Wiyos released their fan-funded concept album, Twist, a 14-track eclectic musical collage loosely based on The Wizard Of Oz. Twist is undoubtedly The Wiyos' strongest and boldest work to date.

Bordeaux à deux. Two times the talent! Two times the fun. Drew Bordeaux and Selena Bordeaux join forces to help us kick off the Holiday Season in style.

Drew is an accomplished singer, guitarist, violinist and bass player, and one of our favorite artists. But, among all his accomplishments, Drew is first and foremost a songwriter. He has composed dozens of songs and performed at an impressive list of venues, including Boston's the Middle East and Sanders Theater, and NYC's the Bitter End, Ace of Clubs and CBGB (and let's not forget 12 Grapes!)

Selena is also a talented guitarist, vocalist and songwriter. We first met Selena as a young teen, and she's grown to be an outstanding performer. Both Selena and Drew will be singing many of their original tunes tonight, as well as some choice covers, both as a duo and solo.

Join us on the couches, for dinner or just a glass of wine (Bordeaux, perhaps?) and another entertaining "Unplugged" Sunday.

His recording and performance credits include work with Donald Fagen, Paul Simon, Sheryl Crow, Lyle Lovett, Stevie Wonder, Incognito, Blood Sweat & Tears, Bob Belden and David Lee Roth.

Hootenanny Cafe Mini Concerts
Online: www.wtbq.com or 93.5FM, NY   See Map
Katie Gosnell is an Austin, Texas based singer/songwriter. Soulful, smart, poignant or playful, Katie’s songs are honest stories about the human experience. An avid music listener but very shy as a child, Katie didn’t sing a note in front of an audience until she was 24 years old. A lover of words, Katie wrote stories and poems and did a lot of daydreaming in her formative years. Soon after she began singing, she longed to combine her love of words and singing, and set out on a quest to learn how to write a song. Her path led her to Berklee College of Music where she graduated in 2005. She moved to Austin in 2006, planted roots, and continues to grow and thrive in the rich music scene in Central Texas. This year Katie was a 2014 New Folk Finalist at the Kerrville Folk Festival and an Official Southwest Regional Folk Alliance Showcase Artist this fall. Katie’s debut album, Dear Katie, was produced by Tom Prasada-Rao.
