Five women sculptors--employing a diverse range of styles, materials, and sizes--exhibit art that honors the universal roles, work and aspirations of women across time and locale. In using imagery inspired by nature, utility, and the body, these artists have been able to celebrate the subtle feminine power that underlies and supports family, culture, and civilization itself.

Exhibit: November 1-December 31, 2014 Opening Reception: Saturday, November 8, 3-6 p.m.

This exhibit is part of "Peekskill: The Power of Women Artists" a multi-venue collaboration that recognizes, celebrates, and affirms the contribution of women artists.

“Amanda Homi covers a lot of musical territory in a masterful, yet adventurous, way…an enchanting journey...” Joe Ross, Roots Music Report

New York City-based singer-songwriter Amanda Homi's new album "Till I Reach Bombay", is a celebration of Ms. Homi's affinity for music and dance from around the world. Amanda's musical and spiritual travels are deeply explored in this new exuberant song collection. Her music effortlessly crosses genres (world, roots, classic, pop) at the drop of a hat as the characters of her songs journey from New York City to Greece, Italy, India, Colombia, Egypt and Spain (not necessarily in that order).

Robbie Dupree Trio, Clifford Carter, David Spinozza, Manuel QuintanaThe FALCON
1348 Route 9W
Marlboro, NY   See Map
Robbie Dupree began his music career by singing on the street corners of Brooklyn. His passion for music flourished in the rich, creative atmosphere of the late 1960s. Moving to New York City, Robbie dedicated himself to songwriting and the pursuit of a solo career. He studied the work of R&B legends like Marvin Gaye and Sam Cooke. Their powerful rhythms and sensual melodies became the foundation of Robbie’s emerging style, which would take him through several bands in the city and eventually up to Woodstock, where he garnered national acclaim with his song "When You're Down." In 1978 Robbie struck it out on his own with his debut album, earning two top 10 singles and a Grammy nomination for Best New Artist.

Robbie will be featuring long-time bandmates Clifford Carter and David Spinozza with Manuel Quintana (percussion). Its a departure from his full production shows and promises to be an intimate night of grooves and great songs.

Peekskill, NY   See Map
Lead singer Nee Nee Rushie, a native of Jamaica, leads her five bandmates in what is arguably one of the best upstate NY groups in recent memory.

Keeping alive the tradition of roots/ska/reggae realness, the Big Takeover's refreshingly upbeat and original.

You'll find it hard to believe that all the cuts on their Debut CD "Following Too Close" are originals, as they magnificently capture early rocksteady riddims with supertight songwriting.

The Big Takeover leans hard toward reggae's more up-tempo parents, ska and rocksteady, and their high energy has audiences jamming from start to finish.

There newest CD, "Tale of My Life" has gotten rave reviews.

"...the intensely jubilant music the Big Takeover makes is the sound of Rushie, as well as her five gifted cohorts, spreading their creative wings—and picking up more and more new fans as they fly along."-Peter Aaron, Chronogram

Oh Man, do we love this joint...Keegan Ales, great, local, beer and great food...and, an equally great band, (you'll be the 2nd to know), to rock the joint...I will bring a unique blend of eclectic musicians together to mingle in the musically unknown...ya know it's gonna be entertaining.

In this ‘ensemble’, nothing is sacred.....improv is rampant...lyrics are changed at will...notes and chords are bent and perverted...familiar languages are obliterated....harmonies are sweet and sour perfection......tunes are put through a fun house mirror, and yet, serious, sophisticated and uncompromising in execution. You are not gonna wanna miss this one.

Best Jazz Brunch of the Hudson Valley Winner - 2014!
with Jack Grace Band
Singer-Songwriter. Guitarist
The FALCON
1348 Route 9W
Marlboro, NY   See Map
Jack Grace is a singer, songwriter and guitarist hailing from Brooklyn, NY. Simple enough, unless you happen to work in the music business. The entertainment world loves a label: character actor, avant garde painter, fill-in-the-blank musician. Jack writes for himself and plays for others. Simple enough, right?

His debut, Introducing the Songs of Jack Grace, was an acoustic affair, which many mistook as country. “Fine, call it country if you want,” he said at the time. “What you label it doesn’t mean all that much to me.” His most recent release, Drinking Songs for Lovers, had some fine country numbers, but he added mariachi horns to give them a Latin flavor.

Jack is at the helm of a powerhouse band that plays kick the can with any musical genre that it stumbles across. “If you don’t laugh and cry at the same …you better check your pulse. You might be disgracefully dead.” – James Reaney, London Free Press (London, ON)

In 2005 Barry Adelman heard the voice of God. It whispered "Music for Humanity". He looked around, no one was there, but he couldn't deny the whisper. It was like the whisper in the movie Field of Dreams; Barry knew he had to take action. He looked up Music for Humanity on the internet and discovered the name reserved, but no website. Barry contacted the person, Kurt Irmiter, who had reserved the name, and together they decided to create a not-for-profit, Music for Humanity. In 2007 Music for Humanity was officially given a 501c-3 status by the IRS, which means donations to MFH are tax-deductible. MFH has given 21 music scholarships from $1000 to $2500. The real goal of MFH is to create a perpetual fund-raiser to help with humanitarian relief efforts throughout the world, but until then, more music means a better world for all of us.

Anchored by the sound of Funk & Soul masters like James Brown, Otis Redding and Prince, SugarBad creates an uplifting sound spearheaded by the velveteen voice of Lisa Ramey. Expect an energetic and captivating experience.

Unlike most typical Funk-Soul acts, SugarBad has all the intensity of a Rock band, featuring anthemic vocals and horns, a powerful rhythm section, and funky guitar and organ-based grooves. With beginnings as an instrumental house band at 169 Bar, Ramey (vocals), Aaron Rockers (horns), Dave Mainella (organ/keys), Frank Cogliano (guitar), Isaac Jaffe (bass), and Nick Myers (sax) quickly evolved into a staple of the NY Soul scene.

With tours in Italy, grand performances at Jazz! at Lincoln Center, and packed shows at legendary NYC clubs such as Bowery Electric and Rockwood Music Hall, SugarBad shows unique versatility and is ready to jolt their genre with their upcoming EP, set to release soon.
