Mother EARth Calls is an eclectic mix of love songs for planet Earth. You can dance, chant and be inspired by lyrics and tunes that invite you to celebrate the magnificence and beauty of life. Swing, Latin, folk, worldbeat, blues, calypso, ballads and "Earth gospel" await you. The invitation is to rejoice as we awaken to the immense challenges facing our planet. Reverence for life is a theme running throughout the recording. The styles are varied but there is a consistent message that life is miraculous and that we are not separate but one with life and the Earth. Many of these songs reflect the cosmological perspective of "The Universe Story" as revealed by modern science and as articulated by Eco-theologian Thomas Berry and cosmologist Brian Swimme. Although not created for children, the music and lyrics are great for kids and the inner child in us all. Several songs have an easy chorus and the music has been used to enhance science classes and interfaith spiritual services.
